On A Personal Note.....

This week, life slowed me down.

My husband had emergency surgery after tearing his Achilles tendon. As you can imagine—ouch. That meant I stayed home to help him recover and manage the extra responsibilities that quickly piled up.

We live on five acres, and our irrigation system requires moving heavy field pipe—something no teenager wants to do and most adults hope they’ll never have to do again. But twice a day, every day, it’s getting done. Not because we asked. Not because anyone owed us. But because people showed up.

That’s what community looks like when it's at its best—quiet acts of love offered without recognition. And I’m so grateful.

But while I was being served, something else was happening. I realized I hadn’t been taking care of myself.

Somewhere between managing pain, appointments, and making sure everyone else was okay, I got the idea to “test” my own need for red light therapy. I stopped for almost two weeks. I figured—it’s summer, I take high-quality vitamin D, I’m healthy. Let’s see if I even notice a difference.

And I did.

The aches and pains crept in. The arthritis in my shoulder flared up. I felt groggy, tired, and off. Then this morning, I woke up aching all over and with a splitting headache. I’d slept 10 hours—and still didn’t feel rested. That was my breaking point.

I crawled into the pod.

Within minutes, my headache was gone. My body softened. My nervous system finally exhaled. And as I lay there, I thought: why did I stop? I had been serving others, pouring from an empty cup—when I know better. When I know what works.

Red light therapy builds up in your system like exercise. It helps your body function at its best, and when you stop, you notice. But when you start again, the benefits return quickly. That’s what the research says, and it’s exactly what I felt.

So how does it work? Chase can tell you all the science—he’s our brain on that. But I can tell you this: after more than 17,000 sessions at The Wellness Center, I’ve seen lives change. And today, I remembered my own story.

It’s easy to give and serve until we forget ourselves. But healing—like service—has to include you.

Your Turn to Refill

If it’s been a while since you’ve come in—or if you’ve never tried a session—this is your sign. Your body deserves support. You deserve rest. You don’t need to wait for a breaking point to start feeling better.
